Full Version: Surf Combat - Auto beacon at final 30 seconds.

When there are no admins on and there is someone who delays but does so by surfing or hiding, sometimes a beacon would come in handy. Final 30 seconds should be fair, and if there is no delaying the beacons wont matter between the final few at the tail end of a match. 

Or perhaps add a function that beacons players that do not move for an extended period of time, that doesnt disappear until they have moved a certain distance or something along those lines?

I am against this part of the suggestion unless it is for only the last 30 seconds or so of the round.
I am also not too sure if I support the idea as a whole. Sometimes I find that servers that have a whole lot of features like this can become annoying and boring. If someone is purposefully delaying (e.g. hiding at the teleporters at the bottom of great river) then you are allowed to tell the enemy where they are.
I get that, but you can't always accuractely ghost when that happens, or if you do they instantly relocate.. Or the person delaying ends up winning which shouldn't be the end case seeing they break the rules and ultimately are rewarded for it.. It's not that big of a deal because delaying rarely happens and when it does they usually lose.. It was just a thought I had that might help prevent it when it does happen Big Grin
+1 I was actually gonna suggest this It wouldn't be too hard to implement would it?
I couldn't agree more with what Richard has said here. It is really annoying when people delay and you have to wait that extra time when this could be implemented and it would solve the problem most the time

I think players left at like 3? Because it would sometimes be pointless adding it when there are lots of people alive in the round but it has like 30 seconds
Just my opinion
Going to try and do it so if 4 players are left beacon activates, but only when the server has more than 10 people on. Sound good ?

This should work out really well, especially on the maps like Utopia where there are 1 way walls...

Another Idea I had Hello World is: If a player has a bounty of over 100 they get a beacon. This way if there is that 1 player that keeps going into those annoying spots that are really difficult to get to, you can sacrifice 100 credits in order to bring more attention to him, and have him "taken care of".
