Some issues with the current state of jailbreak - Prescotti - 16-03-2016 Hey Team, Prescotti here. I have been playing Jailbreak for about 3 days now and I've enjoyed it for the most part. I am posting this not to say "FUCK JAILBREAK IS SHIT" I am posting it to help improve the server. I use to be head admin of one of the biggest jailbreak servers on Counter-Strike Source, so here are some things from that server I feel should be on Invex. 1. If you are on CT, you must warden and the same warden can not warden twice. This helps with warden hogging and also people who join CT and do not warden. I do love wardening and I do not mind doing it every round but I feel like it gets old having the same warden over and over. If this rule is implemented I feel it should be strictly stuck by. 2. Lag Server is getting very full late at night and if Terrorists are running in a pack the server starts to lag. This causes people to miss orders and freekills to take place. Not very good, easy fix is get better servers. I can understand that can be a struggle sometime maybe start a donation fund for the jailbreak server which I will happily put money towards. 3. Speaking over warden I feel you should be allowed to say "if you talk over warden you will be given a warning if done again you will be shot." This will help with the continuous micspam that wardens struggle with. I feel if you talk over warden twice as a CT you should be banned for 30 minutes from CT. 4. Wardens use of tools Freeday tool is there, it needs to be used. (I know admins are making an effort to implement this but when you guys are not on its hell) 5. Votekick/Vote off CT commands These are needed badly. I've got several demos with people freekilling and breaking rules with no admins on. Thanks for taking the time to read, feel free to share your opinion down below or anything else you think needs improving. Cheers lads - Prescotti RE: Some issues with the current state of jailbreak - Luke - 16-03-2016 Okay ill address some of these things. 1. That is a rule already, if people aren't willing to warden they get swapped. 2. I don't ever experience this so not sure. Could be your side of things. 3. We have a tool that wardens can use called priority speaker, it mutes everyone whilst the warden is speaking. CT's are an exeption but i think ill add it into the rules after i experienced it quite alot yesterday. 4. Nothing we can do about this its out of our hands if a admin isn't present. 5. This could be useful, however people might just abuse it if they don't like someone or just 'for the luls' RE: Some issues with the current state of jailbreak - Ownaj - 16-03-2016 votekick and vote off commands are often abused and abused harshly. priority warden is implemented for talking over warden. just use it(its in warden tools). as for lag rem and byte know about it and are trying to fix it. will take time. use of wt is needed but alot of people are new to jb and don't know about it. 1 i agree with. so that we dont have to tell people that they have to warden zzzz RE: Some issues with the current state of jailbreak - Trident - 16-03-2016 ^ what Luke has stated. I'd highly suggest you research into community website before posting something like this in the future, as many of these topics have already been suggest and/or dealt with. as for 5 this will never happen because of abuse with it especially if someone does NOT like the person RE: Some issues with the current state of jailbreak - Byte - 16-03-2016 To elaborate on what Luke said: 1. If you took warden the previous round as CT you get a 3 second delay period at the beginning of the next round in which you cannot become warden again. So its basically impossible for a warden to warden twice in a row if other people want to warden and press the 'Claim Warden' button within 3 seconds. This was added ages ago. 2. Obviously donations help as our server costs are very high. We are always attempting to improve choke/variance/lag whenever possible and will continue to look into this. 3. There is a option in the warden tools menu called 'Priority Speaker', off by default. If you enable it, T's cannot talk over you, they get muted if warden speaks. But yes if CT's spam then admins should mute them or warn them about it. However, I feel the priority speaker is enough when people start being noisy. 4. Well its a rule but theres obviously no way to force people to use the command. But if they do not and call a freeday (except for round 1) then it is breaking the rules. 5. Votekick will probably never be implemented for reasons of abuse. Instead, we will try to get admins who are active and can help deal with rule breakers. We also have a demo system incoming which will allow people to get proof of rule breaking easily without having to record/upload anything. ETA on that is 2 weeks. Thanks RE: Some issues with the current state of jailbreak - Prescotti - 16-03-2016 Thank you all for your posts. I will take into account all that has been said and implement the functions I was not aware of. RE: Some issues with the current state of jailbreak - Big Moist - 16-03-2016 TBH for the 5th one if there are more admins, or more active on jb wouldn't bea problem. Usually there is 1 admin on unless its like mid day RE: Some issues with the current state of jailbreak - Skrub - 16-03-2016 For 5. Maybe you could give VIP the option to initiate vote kick/ct ban temp (5 mins) that way normal people can't come on to abuse it but still gives other ts an option. We could trial test that. |
