Simon Says "Default Position' - Kwala - 10-04-2016
Make it a rule that when stating the "default position", it automatically applies to every command given in Simon Says. There is to much misunderstanding around Simon Says and this would help clear a few things up for both new and old members.

yea this is definitely needed
some people think when you state default you automatically need to return to it after every instruction
whereas others think you must state return to default after every instruction

No. People just need to listen to orders. Listen closely to what simon is saying.

Although to clarify.. when Simon says return to default position after every command.. but then says "Simon says go to this beam and BUTTON FREEZE", that should cancel out that default position considering they were told to "BUTTON FREEZE".

Clarity never hurt anyone. I agree with OP make it default that whatever simon says is default unless otherwise stated.

However, default position can mean different things to different people...
Most people believe it needs to be stated that you need to return to the default position ONLY if Simon says so... Others believe it is automatic as it is called the "default position."
How "closely" you listen doesn't affect this.
A common situation:
> Simon says default position is button frozen in the spot you are now
> Simon says run to this beam
> * Simon kills anyone that ran to the beam
> * People complain about freekilling

I feel as though it shoul;d be auto matic to return to default that is the reason default is staed but a button freeze order should negate default

We need to avoid making rules for every little thing as the rule list will begin to grow to monstrous levels.

This is (very obviously) freekilling.
Simon says run to this beam, not doing so is breaking the rules.
IMO, stating default position means nothing.
Simon could say: "Simon says chicken-32 position is standing button frozen in the spot you are at now".
This alone doesn't mean anything until Simon says "Simon says return to chicken-32 position after each command".
Also returning to a position after each command still overrides everything else.
"Simon says run to this beam and button freeze".
To live you should:
- Run to the beam
- Button freeze for a moment
- Return to default position as you followed the previous command
Personally don't think anything extra is needed but can more JB admins reply.
