Removal of the !rule command - Ownaj - 15-04-2017 Good idea but as no one ever uses it the right way and is only used to rule spam, In my opinion it should be removed. Incorrect use of this command isn't being punished by admins unless its spammed HARD. The rule command in it self is pretty good but as its only used for trolling/griefing there's no point in having it. RE: Removal of the !rule command - lank - 15-04-2017 maybe have it so that only admins can show rules but then again if no admins are on no one else could show the rules to new players +1 anyways RE: Removal of the !rule command - Byte - 15-04-2017 I don't think this is a good idea at all. The !rule command instantly shows people a specific rule which can end arguments about the rules in a quick way without having multiple people start a browser or bring up a motd. We already addressed the 'spamming' by adding a reasonable delay between each time you use it. Admins can also look at their console to see if anyone is spamming a rule and punish the properly. Overall it works fine and is a good feature, why would it be removed for spamming? If anything, the delays would be made stricter so the same person couldn't use it too many times etc. I really don't get suggestions like these. n8 Also the !rule plugin is planned to be added to surf once the new surf rules page is released. RE: Removal of the !rule command - Ownaj - 15-04-2017 I don't know what the current settings are for !rule but maybe have it so one specific rule say !ct 36 can only be done every minute and if its been done within that minute others cannot do that rule until a minute after the first command was done. And a gap between each different rule of say 30s or so. But as it stands it still gets spammed here and there. RE: Removal of the !rule command - n8 - 15-04-2017 I think it's good to have and see no reason to remove it. I guess the !rule ct36 thing is annoying of course (guessing what this suggestion is based off), however admins normally are able to deal with it and offenders get dealt with. RE: Removal of the !rule command - qq. - 15-04-2017 personally i agree with what byte said it will just end the admins getting to tell the person about the rules tbh. RE: Removal of the !rule command - PoosKi - 16-04-2017 +1 I reckon it should be for trusted members of the community, or admins should be able to take the perms of someone if so. Or just make it admin only. RE: Removal of the !rule command - Corbin H - 16-04-2017 Same Thoughts as Byte RE: Removal of the !rule command - Mcnessyj - 16-04-2017 Like Byte said, a delay between using it is the most obvious approach and it would be unnecessary and unethical to remove it. RE: Removal of the !rule command - Chappo - 16-04-2017 for jailbreak people can learn how to play from the rules so without it it would be harder to understand |
