Pretty cool idea. I think that if you were to copy an RWS type system that it should include rounds you don't win. Otherwise you may end up in a situation where you are doing good damage and/or getting many kills per round however they would not count toward your RWS should you lose those rounds. Obviously the auto balance system isn't perfect so this would let people feel like their true rank was shown, not a rank based on how good your team was at any given time.
