No mate ur doing it all wrong, u gotta make the omelette and seperatetly cook what u want to put in it, fucking dumbass can't even cook a good omlette. It's meant to be almost like a sanvich more than a kesh. Who the hell is ur home ec teacher she doesn't know what she cooking jeez
To put into the seperate mixture ur going to be putting in the omlette:
I like ham, tomato and some basil as well as some salt and pepper, and I usually chuck some other spices in there.
This method also helps out when ur cooks for more than one because u can simply make the omlette several times and make the mixture but once.
