I just need to be sure that every communities are still ok with the contest => Sharing the contest when it will start, judging maps, and giving 50$ to winners at the end, because we have to fix the cashprize & make final version of banners

Is this something you guys want to do?
Not asking just the admin team but general community.
We had a similar proposal made to us earlier this year regarding Surf maps but we decided to pass as they wanted an answer in 6 hours and we didn't want to rush it.
If we decide to enter this, what we would ideally get is a bunch of high quality maps in exchange for us sponsoring it.
Overall we can budget this if people want but I'm not sure if its worth it.
From a quick look at the prize distribution:

- 2nd place : 100$
- 3rd place : 50$
- 4th place : 35$
- 5th place : 15$
Why not give most of the winnings to top 3.
If 350$ is the total amount, why not this to ensure people try their best for the top spot producing some HQ maps.

Anyway, i'll wait for some more discussions to happen before I add more comments.

New maps would be great tbh, Also Byte it might be good to get rid of some of the current rotation of maps. Cause there are like heaps that aren't played.

Cash prize isn't established, I proposed this distribution some weeks ago, but like you, some other communities told me to put more money for the top 3.
We have more and more communities so the cash prize is more around 450 than 350 today, plus I send email to different website to get sponsorship and increase it.
Last thing is that I set 5 winners because lots of "jailbreak" mappers are beginners, and if they see only 1 or 2 prices, they will maybe think they have 0 chance to win and won't participate.
Oh and I guess you speak about the gamebanana surf contest haha. The contest will start on 1st of july, so you still have time, more than 6 hours :p

To be honest if the prize pool is that big beginner map makers shouldn't except to win.
You'd expect very HQ mappers submitting maps, not first time hammer users.
