Could use a hand :3 - agonyzz - 29-04-2016

Hey everyone

I tried playing the Jailbreak server earlier today but got really frustrated and ended up leaving after 3 or so rounds.
Jailbreak seems like so much fun but I haven't played it in roughly 5 or so years back in the CS: Source days. So it has changed A LOT since I have played. I was having trouble learning how to play because 90% of the rounds were just free days or war days, and half the time was spent frozen because the younglings were arguing over warden.

I'd really like to play Jailbreak but I don't think I am really going to learn how to play it if I just jump in the server, on the few rounds spent doing actual orders, I ended up being shot in the back of the head because I was trying to figure out wtf was going on and was too slow.

If some people that are "Experts" at Jailbreak could give me some pointers, and some some general knowledge on how to play Jail Break that would be much appreciated!

Thanks a lot, hope to see you there.

P.S: Something needs to be done about the kids that choose to play on the Guards side. It's often really hard to understand what is even being said half the time because they are always talking, *correction*YELLING over each other. Maybe something like the Priority Speaker option in Team Speak could be added, where if the assigned Warden is speaking the other Guards are either muted or sufficiently dampened.

Honestly just read the rules a few times and play a few maps - you'll get the hang of it in no time. Rules are here

Actually maybe hold off on that ^ for a couple days - as we are doing a somewhat re-haul tomorrow/saturday.

There is already a feature like this in the warden tools menue but it is up to them to activate it. I am no pro at Jailbreak but if you are just starting out then follow what others are doing. There are many map specific elements to Jailbreak so it may be good to hop in TS with someone who is familiar with the maps and play with them. Generally though there will be a few 'hot cells' on the map which contain weapons etc. If you could maximize off of these weapons then you could kill the warden and potentially win the round. If you spawn in a normal cell though then you should just follow the wardens instructions until you see an opportunity to rebel and win. You will be able to recognize these situations easier after some playtime!

Name me some css servers you were on.
I might know you, your name kinda rings a bell.

I only really played Edge Gamers back then. But I played under a different name. I believe it was GhostPro or some ridiculously stupid username.

Oh...
So you didn't play
Freedom Gamers
#Mr.
Surf Infamous
etc?
because they had very popular CSS servers.

Before any admins get up me, These community's have shut down, or they've lost their population.

RE: Could use a hand :3 - agonyzz - 29-04-2016

Freedom Gamers does ring a bell, might have played it for a little while. Did play a lot of Surf Infamous Surf Servers, and a bit of Surf Infamous TF2, but only because my brother was the Head Admin XDD

RE: Could use a hand :3 - Jacob - 29-04-2016

Reading the rules a few times will give you a few pointers as a guard or warden... eg you must give orders before 12:00 or it is a free day. Little things like that will help you get your head around jailbreak. As a T you just follow orders and do as the warden says, if there is a game you dont understand just ask for a demo as the warden must do it. Hope this helps a little Smile
