Valve Banning !knife and !ws plugins - Byte - 08-07-2015

Basically, Valve are going to blacklist servers who use !knife, !ws or the fake coin/rank plugins from their master server list.
Such a blacklist would mean new players would not be able to find your server as the large majority of these players find community servers via the server browser (which is populated from the master list).
We are now internally discussing what will happen to these plugins.
I have left this post open to allow some discussion to happen.

That actually pisses me off, !knife and !ws save countless people hundreds of dollars by letting them see if they will like a knife or not, this is just valve trying to get all the money they can get from skins.

Thats the point from valves point lol. People arent buying keys/knives etc.
IMO surf should have all the features stripped. Community is well built and not worth blacklisting.

I agree but when it comes to a server like the trade server in some scenarios it might be really helpful and useful. But yet it's all about Gabes money and none of Invex is worth a blacklisting over "fake" skins.

Agreed. We really shouldn't entertain the idea that it's reasonable to be blacklisted in exchange for keeping two plugins that aren't critical.

I'll be sad to see those plugin go. But it's all for the best. We don't want Invex to be blacklisted, do we? Now the server can actually be about surfing instead of people fiddling around with their gun skins every single round. I hope this will improve Invex's community!
