Haven't played since I got banned (duh) and would like to start again.

There are no bans on that steam id?
Edit:SB is there steam id wont show the ban.
Also this ban is NCP abuse ban which at the time was banning people permanently for some reason. I had this once and needed Hello World To fix it which he said that it shouldn't be banning permanently at all.
I believe his ban was one of those false perma's

This is not correct.
When the NCP abuse ban was first added its parameters were too strict.
It was later 'fixed'. It is impossible for a client to change their name faster than our current settings manually (i.e. using steam client/profile to change your name).
The only 'false bans' would be an admin abusing the !rename feature to spam rename changes which does trigger the same bans. However this can easily be verified by looking at logs.
Thus if you have a NCP ban, you changed your name faster that a human could possibly do. In other words you used an external program, a feature in most multihack programs.
Note NCP does not trigger off clan tag changes etc.

This is why the bans are permanent as they are essentially cheating bans.
Leota Firstly link your steam ID and tell us truthfully what you did to get a NCP ban. I'll then decide if will be unbanned.

You're wrong Byte. I was able to recreate this ban by going on surf hitting shift+tab and then spam changing my name through the friends tab. Im sure if you asked rem he might remember.
However i am not saying that this is what happened to leota as he states this happened while he was offline.

Yeah can confirm if you change your name fast enough it bans you, I remember gUM doing it one time really quickly and being banned for it.

It looks like the settings vary slightly between servers.
Its more lenient on some.
Anyway future replies aren't needed now.
I'll wait for Leota to respond.
