Clarification - Jae - 16-10-2017 I think a little clarification / update to the official rules of surf mainly focusing the "not instantly shooting as you go into jail" i think this would help the surf community understand the rules a bit better and prevent situations like this from happening: https://www.invexgaming.com.au/showthread.php?tid=8607 Due to there being more like generall knowledge / understanding of the situation RE: Clarification - Sir Lagalot - 16-10-2017 A rework of the surf rules is already in progress and the new rules will hopefully be published soon. RE: Clarification - lb - 16-10-2017 +1 I know surf rules are being refined at the moment, however the current rules urgently need clarification. Most players are not aware of the new rule which leads to telecamping / jailcamping and the !rule command being broken does not help. Admins enforcing these rules are obviously not enough as players may play during different times to the admins leaving many players unaware as to what rules they are breaking. The rules are also very vague and leave many players confused as to what is a tele / jailcamp and what is not and needs clearing up to ensure that the players are not breaking rules, this will ensure that everybody will have a more enjoyable time playing surf RE: Clarification - Wibble - 18-10-2017 +1 no point in enforcing a rule which no one really understands. RE: Clarification - Magikarp - 18-10-2017 Like Sir Lagalot stated, a rule update is in the works. However, It's not a very hard rule to understand. Its the same as the telecamping rule. You cant shoot at anyone within 3 seconds of teleporting. (dont quote me on this. Im a JB admin) This includes at people comming thru a teleporter or at people after you exit one. My take on this is that understanding the rule is not the main problem, the real issue is the enforcement of this rule. As the !rule command does not work at the moment and as stated by you a rule update is in the works it is up to the admins to start enforcing new rules as well as remind newer players of the current rules (telecamping etc.). While the rules of telecamp are quite clear to veteran and new players alike, this new rule about shooting as soon as you come out of jail is not. The telecamp rule has been enforced since the creation of the server, however this new rule has only been enforced for the past few weeks, and because admins cannot always be on the server 24/7 many players are not aware that this new rule due to not playing at the same time that the admins are on has been introduced leading to quite alot of rules breaking on one of the, if not the most played map on the server at the moment. This new rule is also kind of a problem as people have been shooting as soon as they have come out of jail since the map was added to the map pool i believe and it has turned into a routine habit for many people. Since the !rules command is broken at the moment I suggest that perhaps we create a message that would post itself in the game chat every couple of minutes stating the rule just like a message pops up saying join our website invexgaming.com.au and all the other messages. This would be a temporary fix to this problem and would be a great way to enforce this rule while the rule update is in works and when admins are not on the server. As Lag stated, but also i have answered this question in another suggestion. |
