Player Skin Preference Bug - lb - 15-11-2017
There is a problem with saving your player skin preferences on combat surf. The two sides (CT and T) both have different problems for me. I'll start with the CT side. So whenever I have a VIP player skin equipped like Mickey Mouse for an example on CT side whenever the map is changed whether it be rtv'd or just manually changed after it has been x amount of rounds the playerskin would always reset to the default CT side skin after a map change (I'm pretty sure this is only a case for VIP skins). This however did not happen on T side as I tested this with the same Mickey Mouse skin but on T side this time, so we changed the map however my skin preference carried over to T side and my player skin stayed Mickey Mouse on the T side rather than resetting to the default T side player skin. Although when I went into the store and tried to unequip the Mickey Mouse skin on T side (not change to a different skin but unequip the skin so I cna wear the default, however everytime I tried to unequip the Mickey Mouse on T side it would not unequip, you could change the skin by choosing any other skin in the store however you can't unequip Mickey Mouse so you can play with the default T side playerskin. (could be same case for other VIP skins).

There has been a problem with saving skin preferences on surf for over ~1.5 years now however I can't seem to find the original bug report on this issue. It is not limited to the skins you are saying. I personally have this problem with the domino skin on T side where it gets equipped every map even after I have unequipped it. I have heard this bug happening with many other skins as well though.

Yea I noticed this as well but I believe it's for VIP skins, I equipped one and unequipped it and every map change my skin Comes back on after being unequipped

yeah i had the same problem when today I was trying to unequip the Mickey Mouse skin off of t side and after I had apparently unequipped it I went into third person and still had it equipped (same map and same round I had unequipped it), guessing this is the same case for alot of other skins as you guys have stated. Not to sure if this happens when you try to equip another skin, only if you are trying to unequip the Mickey Mouse skin and return to the default skin on t side.

Ok so an update on player skin preferences since the update of jailbreak skins being added to surf / some of the old surf skins being removed.
So after the porting of jailbreak playerskins onto the surf server / many of the old surf server playerskins being removed most of the bugs seem to have fixed themselves. On CT side my playerskin no longer resets back to the default CT side playerskin after a map change, I have the Flash skin equipped at the moment and whether the map changes on its own or we rtv the playerskin preference is savd and carries over to the next map and I still have The Flash skin equipped. Regarding being unable to unequip a playerskin on the T side so you can play with the default T side skin, since the system of jailbreak playerskins were implemmented into surf there is a new system in place, when you unequip / equip a new playerskin the change will take effect the round after you decided to unequip / equip a different playerskin. Since this system was implemented I can now unequip my current T side skin (Mickey Mouse) without any problems. Before when I tried to unequip the Mickey Mouse skin so I could play with the default T side skin I could not unequip the playerskin, however with this new system being implemented the skin now unequips with no problems. However there is still the problem that both jynxx and Sir Lagalot have stated, when testing to see if I could unequip my playerskin on T side so I could play with the default T side skin I unequiped my Mickey Mouse skin to find out that that problem had fixed itself, I played with the default T side skin throughout a while map of ski_tsr, when the map changed however my playerskin reset back to Mickey Mouse after every map change (still happens as of now) which was the playerskin that I had equipped before I unequiped it to play with the default T side model. So yeah this is the only playerskin issue that still occurs (for me anyways).

This should now be fully fixed as of this update:

It was caused by a reconfiguration of store (when you have skins for both teams which was the case for the VIP skins).
Should be fixed now.
Let me know if this is now fixed for you so I can close this thread.
