As Invex has grown, adapted and changed we've learnt how our economy behaves and how our donation trends change over time. Ideally, we'd hit close to 100% of our monthly goal every month which means the servers would be self-sustaining. This doesn't always happen and although some months might reach 3-4x the donation goals, other months stay close to 0. We would like a more stable and steady stream of donations to help fund servers if possible.

As a reminder, the current donation goal is carefully calculated from our operating costs.

At the time of this post, the goal is $196 per month.
This is roughly the breakdown:
  • CSGO/Web server box ($184 pm)
  • invexgaming.com domain ($1.83 pm)
  • invexgaming.com.au ($2.01 pm)
  • invex.gg domain ($8.42 pm)
The current costs do not include:
  • server1.invex.gg (old web server) which will shortly be retired once contract expires ($20 pm)
  • gameME services (currently not used)
Changes that are being considered:
  • Package 5 and Package 6 are going to be retired. We will no longer offer Permanent VIP in the future. This will likely never return. It may still be offered as a prize in very rare cases etc. Until this change is made the $200 perm VIP upgrade is still in place. For people that already have these packages, your perms will remain. In particular, people with package 6 will continue to receive VIP on any server we release, forever so don't worry.
  • New longer term packages will arrive that offer 6 months or 1 year of VIP for less than the monthly cost. They may include an unlocked store for the duration of the VIP package.
  • Prices will be reviewed for package 1 and package 2, the two most popular packages.
  • Package 3 and package 4 are almost never purchased and will be removed.
  • Consumable/fun one-time packages may be introduced as a way to contribute when you already have everything else (i.e. Discord perks, in-server unique perks)
These changes are set to be made in early December before VIP sales for XMAS.

We would like to know what your opinions are, there are people that believe Invex is too donation/money focused and we don't want that to be the general consensus but at the same time we would still like to hit the donation goal every month if possible.

We are looking for:
  • Experienced players (preferably with high PT / admin status)
  • Players with prior bug finding experience (we need actual testers)
  • Players that will join a special discord channel to report bugs etc, help fix issues
  • Players that can test in delicate way that won't crash the server.
  • ~ 10 good testers/people are needed
If you would like to be considered, all you have to do is like this post.

If selected, you will then be messed the password to the server.
Do not message any staff member asking for invites, those people automatically get blacklisted.
Do not leak the password, there is not IP whitelist but unauthorised steam ID's will be banned on sight (logs show all).

As the launch of the new InvexGaming servers are fast approaching, we will be altering certain things. First of all, we have chosen just to open our JailBreak server first, then others in the near future.
The Staff Team have also decided to demote all current Head admins and Server Admins, we feel this is appropriate as we really don't know who is going to become active again. In the first few weeks all staff members will be actively looking for admins, if you were previously admin you have a high chance to retain it, so stay active! We will be disabling admin applications until the launch, all applications made prior will be declined.
We will be working very hard in the following weeks to achieve the deadline, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.]]>

Furthermore, the popularly of CSGO has been going down for some time now. We did start as a CSGO community and are one to this day but we also enjoy playing other games.
We cannot host servers for many of these games even though a lot of our community play these games.

The Future of Invex Gaming
After careful deliberation, we have decided to shut down ALL of our CSGO community servers (except the Invex DEV server).
Invex will no longer be branded as a CSGO based community. We will be instead known as a gaming community.
Invex will still be around! We will be rebranding and taking a somewhat different approach focusing on what we do well, community events.
We plan on hosting regular community events, properly planned, funded and organised for our community members.

There are some obvious concerns:
  • What if players leave?
  • How will new players discover us/stick around the community?
  • What if this idea does not work? Will we go back? Fully shut down servers?
These are challenging times but we have an amazing community that I believe can make this change successfully.
Much more details will be released in the future.

This is our new ban policy which we introduced to fix some issues with our current ban system.
Basically, a ban grid will be used to issue bans in a fair and unbiased way.

What was wrong with the old system?
  • Was confusing and unclear
  • Admin bans could vary a lot, unfair/favouritism was claimed a lot
  • Some people received harsher bans for similar offences
  • Our permanent bans were not really permanent (they were basically 3 month bans in all cases as their appeal was accepted)
  • People had no idea how long they'd be banned for if they commuted a specific offence
The New System
  • User commits offence
  • Admin looks up recommended ban duration (considering how many offences they've committed in same category)
  • Admins picks a value from the range they think is fair and issues the ban
Perks of New System
  • Bans are standardised so they're always fair
  • Admins are held accountable if they ban for too long or too short
  • Appeals make more sense
  • Permanent bans are actually permanent
  • People will automatically get unbanned after X months for some offences

Do I need to read through all this?
If you follow all rules, you really don't need to.

Where does telecamping, freekilling fall under?
Telecamping is a general server specific offence, it falls under O1, general offences.
Freekilling is not a offence and does not result in a platform or server ban. It will however result in CT bans (which is its own separate system).

Where does posting irrelevant replies fall under?
General Offence again, as its website-specific.

What exactly does each offence include?
See the Offence Descriptions by expanding the spoiler on the help doc page.

What happens to the forum warning system?
It is being removed. The warning feature will shortly be removed.
There will no longer be any 'warning' system.
Keep in mind though that making an irrelevant post can now provide you with a website platform ban upto 24 hours for breaking a general offence.

What will happen to current rules on servers/forums/Discord?
They will all be changed somewhat.
The first rule on all these platforms will be:
"Don't break any Invex Gaming offences (with a link to the help doc)"
Then any specific platform rules (i.e JB rules for Jailbreak, telecamping for Surf, TOS on Discord) will be added as additional rules.

I'm already banned, how does this affect me?
All prior bans will stand as is.
If you have been permanently banned twice with the old system, you are still considered permanently banned.
If you are permanently banned once with the old system, you may appeal instantly and your ban can be changed to a time ban that will automatically expire based on your offence (given your offence wasn't a permanent offence).

Telecamping is a general server specific offence, it falls under O1, general offences.
Freekilling is not a offence and does not result in a platform or server ban. It will however result in CT bans (which is its own separate system).

Where does posting irrelevant replies fall under?
General Offence again, as its website-specific.

What happens to the forum warning system?
It is being removed. The warning feature will shortly be removed.
There will no longer be any 'warning' system.
Keep in mind though that making an irrelevant post can now provide you with a website platform ban upto 24 hours for breaking a general offence.

What will happen to current rules on servers/forums/Discord?
They will all be changed somewhat.
The first rule on all these platforms will be:
"Don't break any Invex Gaming offences (with a link to the help doc)"
Then any specific platform rules (i.e JB rules for Jailbreak, telecamping for Surf, TOS on Discord) will be added as additional rules.

I'm already banned, how does this affect me?
All prior bans will stand as is.
If you have been permanently banned twice with the old system, you are still considered permanently banned.
If you are permanently banned once with the old system, you may appeal instantly and your ban can be changed to a time ban that will automatically expire based on your offence (given your offence wasn't a permanent offence).
