Found a fix that helps, doesn't fix all loading screen crashes after leaving a game.
Open UserOptions.ini and change
Mode=Fullscreen
FullscreenMode=Fullscreen
to
Mode=WindowedFullscreen
FullscreenMode=Windowed
Don't forget to set the file to Read Only otherwise h1 will reset it the next time it opens.
It'll either run in windowed or windowed borderless but it helps.
