Maybe a way to get money

I was just wondering on how invex could get more funding and thought that maybe you could get ads on,the forums like on the side or something or maybe even a sponsor I don't know the difficulties in this but thought it maybe could be done to help out the servers or whatever the money would be put towards Byte Hello World

Yea, I'm sure many of the people in this community would be happy to add a few non-intrusive ads, although it might be a deterrent for new players. Maybe have an option to turn on ads?

Maybe if you turned on ads, you get like a 100 credits a week or something, not too many = 0.50 a month worth of creds, and I'm sure ads generate a lot more than that.

Yeah thats a really good idea would get the new players to actually turn on ads

IMO If you add credit's as an incentive it just becomes a money grab. It should be completely voluntary and done by people that just want to help and that's it. Know all those annoying ads on mobile games? This is basically what it is, if you add credits to the equation.

But that's just my opinion.

Ads are an interesting area. We don't want to turn them on unless we absolutely have to (ie we need more money to fund servers). As of right now, the website is fairly cheap for us and the servers (Jailbreak mainly) gets enough donations along with admin contributions to fund the servers entirely. Once our contract expires in 1 month, we also have a bit of extra spending money so money-wise we are in a good position.

We did consider placing motd ads on 1v1/retakes as those servers don't get any donations but that might annoy players who dislike ads and I think most people like ads so I want to avoid stuff like that if possible. As for additional sponsors, it would sick to get extra ones although I don't know who would be interested. We actually get a lot of website traffic so we are pretty marketable to people who advertise gaming related stuff (CSGO gambling websites come to mind but thats another questionable thing to advertise).

Yeah you could probably get in contact with a gambling site but yeah it was just a thought for if you need more money

I don't think I'm really explaining it properly, it's pretty hard to. Basically if anything ad/money related gives you a form of in-game currency, it's sort of becomes compulsory otherwise you can't really keep up with others. Players would have to grudgingly go through all the ads just to get those free credits. It's just like any other advertisement "Do this and we'll reward you" and if you don't do it you'll fall behind, so we're kind of forcing you to do it.
It's really hard to explain but a majority of incentive driven advertisement campaigns end in a really annoying experience.
But everyone has their own opinions right? That's just my personal experience on the matter.

Most of us use adblock on our browsers and i wouldnt mind if you had ads on the site that arent annoying and dont contain cleavage or anything inappropriate
