Retrieving Server Info

I think this is mainly directed at Byte/Helloworld but others might have the answer. When you join the JB server and it says "retrieving server info" is there a specific site that it's getting the info from? I'm wanting to know so I can white list it off of my firewall and hopefully speed that process up. I'm not sure if firewall/network has anything to do with this although that's the idea I've gotten off of other forums I've been reading. If anyone has any other info about this I'll appreciate any contribution.

Im Unsure, but for me it takes me maybe 2 seconds when it says "retrieving server info"

it tends to go faster if you already have the map and addon's installed,

I'm pretty sure that it is because it's grabbing the info to load the server from our server host company.

Byte do you have anything to add?

yea, i understand that its grabbing info from somewhere but i want to know specifically where it's coming from and whether computing speed has anything to do with it as well as network speed

This may be unrelated but am I the only one that re downloads the same sound file every time I join the JB server.

It used to happen to me all the time but after a while it just stopped. Byte/Helloworld said it was just a sound file bug but I guess it hasn't been patched yet

It's just connecting to the host server, and is probably for the best if no further information is given. (Although highly unlikely to be hacked/dossed it is better safe than sorry)

The IP's to whitelist are here:

This shouldn't be necessary though if the CSGO application is already whitelisted by your firewall.
You can instead try turning on Upnp and QoS on your router as well as generic CSGO ports used to connect to servers (27000-27500).
This may help.

Go into your CSGO files and delete the specific sound file.
Once you rejoin the server, it should download again and fix the bug.
Additionally, its a good idea to verify the integrity of your game cache.
