There are literally 4 options at the bottom of the "new thread" page when you post it to subscribe or not subscribe lmao

Not what I'm saying lol, I'm saying you should get a notification when someone replies to YOUR post not any post in the thread

Yeah this is a good idea.
Its meant to be already built into the alerts plugin but seems bugged/broken.
Hence why people typically add a mention when replying.

I'll try to see why this isn't working to try and fix it.
Its meant to already be a thing.

This has now been fixed, turns out our database for MyAlerts was corrupt and we were missing all the default options!
8 new options have been added including one for when someone quotes your posts.

You can configure the ones you want to disable here:
