You can move your mouse around this scoreboard and by clicking on a players name, you prompt a small menu to open.
About halfway down that menu is a "Block communication" button.
It seems that players don't understand the role of an administrator.
An administrator is given their powers to do things that a normal player cannot do themselves.
My point here is that if you have the ability to easily solve an issue that you are having through non-dramatic or troublesome means, you should probably do it instead of pestering an admin that's likely trying to deal with other, more important things that players cannot solve themselves without going to dramatic, troublesome methods.
This means that there is simply no need for non-admins to be given mute powers.
Chances are, if we trusted someone with the power to mute players at will, they'd have been considered for administrator already.
Players are able to mute other people themselves. If someone speaking has a voice that you don't like, fucking mute them yourself instead of requesting an admin to force-mute them. We are not servants, we are administrators.
The muting requests have gotten ridiculous, and it's evidently gotten to the point where players are actually now requesting the ability to force-mute other players instead of using the "Block communication" button I spoke of in my opening.
This is ridiculous and it needs to go no further.
Take note, I'm happy for VIP members to have the ability to call a vote-mute.
What I'm not happy for, however, is the absurd escalation of player laziness and inability to do anything for oneself.
Use 'voice_enable 0' if you're too lazy to even use the "Block communication" button.
+1 vote mute is actually a good idea.
I' would expect that would not get abused.
