I've suggested something like this.
1.) guards MUST warden at least once normally during the present map before a special day can be used (not including first day free day). This could be used as a rule or it could be coded to lock the special day mechanic until their set task has been completed.
2.) One special day every two normal days. No special days can be spammed until a normal round has been played out. Again this could be a rule or coded to lock it.
3.) Only one sort of special day. This is the last option which isn't really the best in my opinion. Example. You can only do one war day in stead of three.
I don't think lowering the amount of special days in a map is a good compromise, thinking special days are actually a lot of fun in some cases when used in the appropriate manner.
