I agree with what n8 said and how it's a popularity contest, here's my thoughts.
Within the Admin section, when the thread is up about the person who is applying for it, I think it shouldn't be closed when it's accepted, I think when it's accepted they get placed in a new "Trial Admin" group, Trial Admin doesn't have the perms to look at the admin section just yet, because as I said before the admin section thread about the person who is applying is still open for discussion.
Admins will discuss the person who is going for Admin in their Trial Admin phase, if they contain the qualities of being admin. If not, they'll be demoted back to member, if they do, after 2 weeks (the normal time) they'll be a normal admin.
Clarification (if you don't get it :p):
What happens:
1. A player makes an app.
2. After feedback from some members/admins a inside admin thread will be made.
3. After good feedback from admins/globals in the admin section thread, the player is promoted to "Trial Admin", the admin section thread is still left open. If there's NOT good feedback from the admin section thread, it's closed like normal and the application is denied.
4 (If the player is accepted). Admins will keep an eye out for the Trial Admin and seeing if they have the qualities to be a good admin.
5. After admins keeping an eye out for the Trial Admin, they will give their HONEST opinion on how the Trial Admin is going on the admin thread made back when the player initially made the application for admin.
6. If the Trial Admin doesn't have the qualities of an admin, the player will be demoted back to member. If they do have the qualities, they will be promoted to admin like normal and the initial admin section thread is closed.
This eliminates the "popularity contest" problem n8 was talking about.
This is only my opinion on how it should be though. Thoughts?
