Off the top of my head, how about we have a few races?
I'd imagine it would be hard to set up, but we could try setting up timers for players to get from point X to Y in whatever way they want, (surfing, bhopping, crouchwalking, whatever they want to do) and the shortest time wins.
Perhaps you'd be able to expand upon this idea or improve it.
As for the day of events idea, I would reccomend that we just have say, an hour of nonstop events with skin prizes being given out to winners. If we did this, I'd suggest we get a Staff Member to keep track of winners.
