For example, the buyzone on dust2_overcore is placed in a very specific location to make buying items a risk, meaning that the map owner didn't intend for people to be buying Negevs and AWPS as soon as they spawned.
Take a look at the Deagle spawns on rebel_resistance; why bother with that if you can just buy a Tec-9 and a G3SG1/Dakdak and camp somewhere, rather than make a risk/effort to get guns at all?
Personally I'm very much against the idea of modifying how buyzones work; in specific, the idea of adding more to maps. If it were down to me, I'd simply remove all buyzones and add weapon pickups in a general fashion.
A large aspect of combat surf is the skill level required to surf to a pickup and to survive picking it up for long enough to make some use of it. This doesn't apply to any maps that the creator has placed buyzones in, because the creator intended for the map to be played in a specific fashion.
I'd urge to keep buyzones as they are. Let me know if anyone needs any further explaining on this, I wasn't able to be entirely thorough as his was typed out on mobile.
Yeah that is actually a good point.
Maybe we could instead make an event round which unlimited money and unlimited buy time/buy anywhere. Just for fun
