These are two separate events because I wasn't about to make an account and write up an abuse report over one minor disagreement simply because I don't believe admin time and privileges should be wasted on minor issues, however in the second instance both the degree of admin abuse and the intensity of argument escalated and I feel like I have been forced by Jynxx to create an abuse report or simply leave whenever he joins the server.
Unfortunately, Jynxx's preferred method of conflict resolution is to repeatedly say "Report me if you think I'm abusing" and apply admin powers where necessary in order to ensure that his ability to moderate the server remains completely unquestioned by those he is responsible for moderating.
The following wall of text is simply backstory and the first incident, just for the sake of completeness, skip to the bold text if you don't care, I didn't consider it a significant enough example of admin abuse to report it, however I did have a discussion with two people afterwards who both agreed that Jynxx was a bit out of line.
The first issue I had with Jynxx occurred on Ski, where I was slapped and then warned for "Jail Camping". Jynxx stated I was breaking was the "Jail Camping" rule, which is as follows:
No teleport or spawn camping. You must attempt to escape jail if possible.
As far as my interpretation of this rule goes, one is not allowed to remain inside the jail should they have a reasonable window to escape it, otherwise they are both camping the jail and the jail teleport. At the time, I received the aforementioned reprimand for simply for surfing onto the ramp from which jail can be locked and shooting once, killing somebody who was already in jail, which is why I surfed up to the ramp to get a good angle for shooting into jail in the first place. I was slapped immediately after this and, to give a general idea of how long I was given to stop "Camping the jail", I was slapped before I could aim at and shoot the second person who was already in the jail fighting the first person I shot. This was followed by a verbal warning from Jynxx, but there was no warning given prior, and prior to this incident some minor disagreements were had about my opinion on unfair disciplinary action given to somebody else on the server by Jynxx. Both the immediate (and arguably rushed) nature of the actions taken against me and the fact that they occur directly after I have criticised Jynxx's use of admin has since this incident become a recurring theme.
My second encounter with Jynxx and the reason for this report is as follows:
The second set of incidents occurred today on dust. Since this is already a wall of text I'll only give a short summary of each event I deem relevant either to my report or to the course of action which I took.
1. Jynxx joins the server and immediately calls a free for all vote.
2. Jynxx mutes all players for 1 minute because "It was too loud". I was at the time having a conversation with Ezki and Yuri.
3. When the mute ended, I asked Jynxx why he muted the entire server, and upon being given the aforementioned reason, I told him I thought it was blatant admin abuse and if he thinks people are talking too loudly he should turn down his voice_scale, since that's how computers work. During this, Ezki starts singing and is immediately hit with a 15 minute mute.
4. After Jynxx ignored my concerns/criticisms for about a minute, I gave up and continued playing.
5. Later on in the map, I went into the T spawn teleporter knowing I was being followed and walked backwards, as most people do when they know they are being followed into a teleporter. As I attempted to jump onto the ramp, Jynxx came through the teleporter 2 or 3 seconds after I had gone through, knowing clearly I was there, and as I was mid air trying to jump onto the ramp I shot him. He immediately slayed me and told me I was "camping the teleporter".
6. I told Jynxx once again that I thought he was abusing his admin powers as any normal player would have to worry about following people into teleporters and any normal player who got killed in that situation would not have a button they can rage press that would slay the person who killed them. I think it's important to note that I do this every single time I go through that particular teleporter on dust 2014 and I have almost 2k kills on the server without a single prior warning, verbal or otherwise from any admin about this in particular. I have received one verbal warning from Tick for aiming at T spawn while sitting in CT spawn, which, while not immediately intuitive since I'm far away from the teleporter, still makes sense, as I am both camping and aiming at a teleporter. I was given zero warnings prior to my slay for any reason.
7. After I was slain, I argued with Jynxx about whether or not it's fair to say I'm camping the teleporter when I was moving in the fastest possible straight line away from it. During this I followed somebody into the CT spawn teleporter and killed them, as I was aiming at the first person, another came in as all 3 of us were following eachother closely with me in the middle. I shot the second person too. I was issued a !warn for killing the second person even though they shot at the person I killed, which is important because some admins on this server consider shooting after you go through the teleporter as indication that you are ready for combat and therefore it's okay to shoot at you.
8. After questioning Jynxx as to his reasoning he mumbled "For killing the second guy". I argued that it obviously wasn't telecamp and that I shouldn't be warned for telecamping since I've already been slain for the one instance of what he deems telecamping, even though it isn't. Following this I was immediately muted for 15 minutes. At this point I was completely unable to see how anybody could possibly justify three instances of admin action against me, so I attacked Jynxx's general admin ability in chat, pointing out that even though there are admins like Riggsy who fuck around on occasion, he's the only admin that I know of who regularly gets criticised for admin abuse, because he's the only admin that regularly ruins people's fun by being petty, immature, and using admin powers to get his way, with an obvious bias against anybody who criticises him for it.
9. Jynxx countered my criticism by naming another admin who I am not familliar with and telling me that he abuses his admin "way more". When I said that this is irrelevant, Jynxx repeated for the 4th or 5th time that map that if I (and the other people criticising him for abusing admin) have a problem with it, we should "Make an abuse report".
10. To this I replied by telling Jynxx to "Shut the fuck up", that he should "Be accountable for (his) actions" and that it's his responsibility as an admin to be mature and respond to criticism by explaining his actions. I don't believe that simply repeating the name of the rule he's using as an excuse to single people out is considered in any way, shape or form a defence or reasonable argument for using admin on someone.
11. Directly following this, I was immediately banned, along with another person who was also criticising Jynxx's ability to use admin.
I'm not going to discuss whether Jynxx is a respected admin in this community because frankly, I'm too new to have a good idea of everyone's opinions, however I believe these events are more than enough reason for Jynxx to be stripped of his admin if an almost full server of witnesses can bring forward enough evidence.
