It doesn't really matter. Unless you want specific features like more USB ports or WLAN
If you care about overclocking the only thing you need to check for is if the motherboard has the right chipset (these parts; Z170X, X99, Z270X, etc.) just check if the I/O is suitable. Motherboards don't really vary in speed dood.

Like what Vinyl said, what mobo you want is all about what features you want, ultimately, the mobo is what decides what parts are compatible. Also, are you looking for a mobo to overclock your cpu? With your cpu, im assuming you meant i5 6500? If so, any motherboard with an intel chipset 1151 will be compatible with that cpu. Then it is just down to looks/extra features you want and future upgrades you plan on doing.
